Dumbarton House Makers' Market November 2019
Dumbarton House, a federal period house museum in Georgetown, is hosting its first Makers' Market in partnership with Made in DC. The market will be part of Dumbarton at Dusk which is a monthly cocktail party that highlights the musuem's collections and local history. During the event, there will be pop-up talks on our exhibition "Made in DC" which features collections pieces made by local artisans in the 18th and 19th centuries. We will also have live music, free food and a cash bar. This event is open to the public with a pay-what-you-like donation.
Date: November 21, 2019
Time: events runs 5:30pm-8:00pm; site open to vendors from 4:30pm-9:00pm for set up and tear down
Cost: The only fee for participating is a deposit on table/booth space. Deposits will be returned following event. Once applications are processed, Dumbarton House will contact you regarding payment of the deposit. $50 deposit for vendors who supply their own table $100 deposit for vendors using Dumbarton House table Dumbarton House will provide chairs as needed.
Terms and Conditions:
Vendor will not hold Dumbarton House , its directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, or volunteers responsible for any accident or injury incurred during this event. Vendor further agrees to hold Dumbarton House, its directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, or volunteers harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, and actions that Dumbarton House, its directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, or volunteers may sustain or incur, directly or indirectly, as a result of any action or inaction of Vendor or any of Vendor’s employees, agents, or volunteers in connection with Vendor’s participation in this event.
Vendors who cancel must let Dumbarton House know by November 7, 2019. No refunds will be issued for any reason after that date. Failure to appear will result in Dumbarton House retaining the table deposit.
Spaces are assigned by Dumbarton House staff to create maximum pedestrian flow, promote maximum vendor exposure and maintain accessibility to retailers. All Vendor displays must be contained within an approximately 6' by 4' booth site perimeter. No loudspeakers, amplified boom boxes, sound systems or portable bullhorns are allowed.
Deposit must be paid if application is accepted. Deposits will be returned after the event. Vendors who do not show up, will not get their back deposit.
Dumbarton House reserves the right to decline applications based on too many applications already accepted in a category and/or exclusivity rights that may be in place for the event. If a category is oversubscribed (for instance too many candle vendors) vendor fee will be returned to applicant as soon as possible. If applicant wishes to change category and sell something else, every attempt will be made to accommodate the vendor as long as the new category is not also oversubscribed.
